Usage tips for Embossed cutters:

Using cutters that have embossed lines will take patience and practice, but don't let that put you off! Cornstarch/flour will be your best friend with these beauties!

  1. Ensure your clay is adhered to a glossy tile prior to cutting out your piece of art.
  2. Have your bowl of cornstarch/flour at the ready and dip your clay cutter into the cornstarch/flour. Tap off any excess with a brush or long tool.
  3. Take a paintbrush or your fingers and brush your clay slab with the cornstarch/flour to coat it ever so slightly.
  4. Gently press the cutter into your clay slab until halfway through the clay - do not cut the clay fully.
  5. Once cut through the clay halfway, dip the cutter back into your cornstarch/flour and tap off the excess again - repeating step 2.
  6. Then place the cutter into the already half cut slab and cut all the way through.
  7. Your clay will now be fully cut through, leaving you with a beautiful imprint and cut of your selected cutter.

Smoothing out the edges prior to baking, and/or sanding post baking might be required for that professional look.

The Images used are rendered but represent what the actual 3D design looks like. I have inserted an image at the end of what I have created using these cutters for your reference in terms of realism.
